Eliza’s musical journey has taken her from Nashville to London, Scotland, Arizona, and back home to the Southeast. Along the way, she followed another calling to theology school, where her thesis, In Belief of Tears: American Blues as an Entrance to the Psalms of Lament, explored the connection between American blues and traditions of lament.

Together with her musician husband, Mike Alexander, Eliza creates a sound they describe as devotional folk rooted in the blues: thoughtful, soulful music with stories at its center.
